Class of 2014!

I am now officially out of high school! Woohoo! I made it!
I was so nervous even though i didnt have to say anything. My class was very small (10 kids) but it was still really good. We went to the lake after at had so much fun! Thank you everyone for my presents and blessing me as I open this new chapter in my life.

Goodbye Highschool!

I turned 18 recently and I'll be graduating very soon (in May). I'll be super busy for a while as prom is coming up as well and lots of other stuff. I wanted to take some time before I graduate to recap the last 4 years of my life (this isn't in detail haha).

 I am homeschooled (if you did not know) so I never really had the "real" highschool experience but what I did have was what I thought was pretty darn close. E.C. (school once a week) was filled with what you would find at a regular high school. Now don't get me wrong the idea of it was great for homeschoolers to get out and socialize but what the kids did wasn't cool. I'm not saying really bad stuff happened (like "that" stuff), I'm talking about kids dating, athletes that are jerks, and flat out bullying. Highschool. So, I did have a bit of a highschool experience but maybe not exactly as some people.

I really didn't have the best 4 highschool years (to be honest, I hated them), except for this last year, it's turning out pretty good. :) the past 3 years I really didn't have any friends at all and the friends I did have turned and stabbed me in the back, except for 1 and she didn't even go to e.c. (she is still my best friend). But if I could go back and change those 3 years, I wouldn't change 1 thing. I wouldn't because the hurt and struggle I went through made me stronger and wiser. It also prepared me to face the world and brought me closer to God.

 My senior year has been a great year and I have lots of friends. :D If I didn't go through what I did this year wouldn't be what it is. I don't think anyone has the best high school experience but you can either let that take you down or make you stronger. I don't think I could have made it through without God by my side the whole way. I thank God for the friends I have now. I'm not saying there is no drama or anything (because there is lots), it's just not backstabbing, tear you down drama. I'm saying learn from those straggules and let God carry you through them.

Anger in focus

When we are angry we tend to get out of control and say stuff we didn't need to say or we didn't mean. Our tounges have the power of life or death. Be careful what you say. Watch your temper. If you are having a bad day (lets face it all of us have our days :/), take some time to talk to God and just cool down. If its a PMS day (girls you know what I'm talking about), Pray for power Make a plan Seek some fun. Have a girls night, do your nails, watch a funny movie, go play basket ball or volley ball with some friends, listen to uplifting music. STAY AWAY from chocolate, romantic movies, and love songs, they will only make you feel worse, trust me! Just be sure to watch that temper. ;)

Whatever is pure



I had written  a post about kids in public school and not being pure. You know kids are just like sponges and absorb everything they see and hear. I think we have all heard the little kid song "Be careful little eyes what you see, be careful little ears what you hear, for the father up above he is looking down in love so be careful little eyes what you see." That "little kid" song is very relevant to all of us. We all need to be careful of what we see and hear. If we don't watch what we see and hear kids aren't either.

Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right,  whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable -if anything is excellent or praiseworthy-  think about such things.

18 and Tattoos…

I will be turning 18 on February 2. My older sister who is 24 and married J said that on my 18th birthday she was going to take me to get a tattoo and one for herself. Now this was talked about when I was about 15 and I didn't give it a second thought. Until recently this topic was never brought up again… but now that my birthday is so close; I have been praying and thinking about it a lot. I had done a little research on a biblical stand point. I found a lot but all of them were bringing up Leviticus 19: 28 28 “‘Do not cut your bodies for the dead or put tattoo marks on yourselves. I am the Lord.” I wanted to do a little more to see if I saw anything other than this verse. I found this lovely lady who wrote a little about tattoos (The lovely lady's website :)). She brought up Leviticus 19:28 but from a different point of view. She said “If you judge tattoos by this verse than you have to read the surrounding text too.” What she meant by that was that this verse in the bible was the Lord telling people who believed this as worship to false gods to not do it as worship to false gods. She also had a few questions for people to think about before getting a tattoo. I liked all of the questions, but one really got me thinking. The question said “Would your future spouse want you to have this tattoo?” now to fully understand why this question got me thinking is this; my mom and I (before my research) were talking about this subject (tattoos) and she said to me “Michaela, you really have to think about this. Your sister is married and her husband is okay with her getting a tattoo. Would your future husband want you to have a tattoo?” Now if that wasn't God telling me something than I don’t know what is. That hit home for me. I mean if I got a tattoo it would not be out of rebellion and the tattoo my sister showed me is really cool, but I am going to wait.

What I want to tell y’all is that it really ends up being something between you and God. No one can make that decision for you. Consider everything before you choose because it is permanent.


Please keep this all in mind when/if you get a tattoo. Of course do some praying before you decide.  :)

Kids? Where are you?

                                                   
I was talking to my little 11 year old brother about how school was. He starts telling me about his teachers, and then he goes into his friends and their conversations. (He goes to public school) He tells me about a boy that is 12 and bragging about the fact that he can watch porn… PORN! At 12 years old! I didn't even know what the word porn even meant until 2 years ago! He also told me about a 10 year old girl wanting to have sex with a boy (also 10 years old) because she wants to have experience for when she gets older. She is 10! When I was 10 (only 7 years ago) I played on my jump rope and ran away from boys because
 “They have cooties!”  Not to mention he also saw a girl that is in middle school and pregnant! In middle school!
I’m sorry if I sound a little harsh but this does not make me happy. We are talking kids! Middle school! Be a kid while you still can!
I guess my point of writing this is that (other than for me to vent a little on this subject) if you can do anything for any young person to lead them away from that kind of stuff. Please do! It’s up to us to turn this next generation around! Don’t let this generation die! I will do everything in my power (with God’s help of course) to make this generation strong! I need help from you! Will you help this change?

The One?

I have been thinking lately about... The One. You know, The One we are destine to be with. Well I don't really believe that. It's not a biblical principle, is it? I'm unsure of that. I do believe that God gives us all guide lines to follow when we choose a man. I'll explain. We don't go marry a man that is crazy nut ball guy and expect him to change or to be The One. We need to follow guide lines; that's why they are there. We have to spend time with God to find out what these guide lines are. If you follow the guide lines God gives you and marry someone who follows those as well then God will bless your marriage and God will make that man your One . I'm not saying that you will have a perfect marriage with no problems but it will be a lot easy then someone who did not follow those guide lines. Even if you didn't follow those guide lines but you and your husband repent and change then God can work in your marriage.

This is just my thoughts. I am not a marriage counselor or anything. I am not married of course because I am only seventeen but I do believe what I said is true. I believe my God can do the impossible! Even in a marriage!

Dating and Friendship

I have never been big on dating mostly because I believe that we should date when we are ready to marry but that's my opinion. I am big on friendship! Friends are great and they come in all shapes and sizes. Maybe you dog is your best friend? I love friends because they are there for you, and you for them. :) Guys friends are great too! There is no drama with them.

Have you ever liked a guy/girl but didn't want to just ask them out? Well try just being friends with them. You may end up having nothing in common and then it ends up very awkward. :/ One of my favorite authors said  "Friendship is the beginning of intimacy; without it our desire for true intimacy will not be experienced."
Friendship is a great place to start! :)
